Swiftpipe is pleased to announce that an affiliated company Swiftpipe Middle East Ltd has been set up to operate from Rouen France. The new office in Rouen is run by Dr Ben Chapman who has extensive experience working in the Middle East region most recently with Technip. The company will focus on bringing Zap-Lok technology to the region initially for onshore pipeline construction.
Dr Chapman is an Executive Director of Swiftpipe Middle East and will primarily responsible for the company's marketing and contracting in the region.
Dr Chapman commented.." Zap-Lok, technology is particularly suited to operations in challenging working environments. I very much look forward to making this excellent technology available to the region as I believe it will be very beneficial to operators there to reduce their costs and improve pipe lay efficiency particularly for lined or coated pipe".
Bob Moore commented.."I am delighted that Ben has joined Swiftpipe Middle East Ltd. His technical and marketing experience, previously with Technip, will prove very valuable to the company and I am sure we will make significant inroads to the region under his expert guidance."
Swiftpipe supplies proven technology called Zap-LokŪ that can join and lay steel pipelines (up to 16 inch or 41cms outside diameter) at onshore speeds of over 1000 feet (305 m) per hour using standard 40 feet (12.2 m) line pipe. This is up to five times faster than conventional welded pipe joining methods with substantial cost and efficiency savings. Offshore, from a lay barge, 39 pipe joints per hour have been achieved using Zap-LokŪ.
