Swiftpipe conducts successful equipment demonstrations in Muscat, Oman

Swiftpipe Middle East Ltd is pleased to announce that successful demonstrations of Zap-Lok Pipeline Installation Technology took place in Muscat, Oman on 24th, 25th and 26th April. The event was organised by IBD Oman and over 60 guests attended during the three days of demonstrations. Guests saw the Zap-Lok Pipeline Installation equipment in action and were also able to attend a seminar run by Jee Engineering on site so they could find out more about the technical and engineering aspects of the Zap-Lok equipment and Joints. Pipe preparation for 4" and 6"OD X-52 Schedule 80 line pipe was demonstrated on 4ft cuts of pipe. Guests were able to watch closely when the 'belling' and 'pinning' and quality control/assurance processes were demonstrated by the Zap-Lok technicians. Afterwards using the prepared line pipe a short pipeline using the 4ft lengths was made using the Zap-Lok Press. One 4" test line and one 6" test line of two joints each were made for hydro-testing which were conducted successfully for several hours.
After a demonstration of the Zap-Lok Joint process a timed Joint connection for 6"OD line pipe of 7x 4ft lengths (6 joints) was made in 4 minutes 41 seconds. Guests were able to see a leak tight Joints made on average every 47 seconds with the pipeline being 'pulled' from a static Zap-Lok Press.

The new office in Rouen is run by Dr Ben Chapman who has extensive experience working in the Middle East region most recently with Technip.
